To celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the Winter Simulation Conference in 2007, ten WSC Proceedings articles that impacted the theory, education, and practice of simulation were selected as Landmark Papers. A special session at the WSC '07, organized by Nilay Argon, was devoted to these Landmark Papers. The article Fortieth Anniversary Special Panel: Landmark Papers gives the background as well as a summary of each paper and why it is important.
